John C. Tassini

John Tassini’s practice focuses on estate and trust planning and administration.  He prepares estate planning documents such as Wills, trust instruments, powers of attorney, and medical advance directives (“living wills”) for a wide range of clients.  When a client is named as an executor or trustee, Mr. Tassini provides meticulous yet efficient guidance in the administration process.  With a background in probate litigation, he also assists clients in resolving estate disputes, such as Will contests.

Like his parents and grandparents, Mr. Tassini grew up in southeastern Monmouth County.  He is a graduate of Brielle Elementary School and Manasquan High School.  He and his wife, Kate, parents of three school-age children and a goldendoodle, make their home in Manasquan.  Mr. Tassini is a trustee of the Manasquan Public Library, an appointed member of the Borough Council’s Citizens’ Advisory Committee, and a volunteer with the Manasquan-Brielle Little League. In 2024, the Manasquan Borough Council appointed him an alternate member of the Planning Board. He is a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Manasquan, where he was ordained an elder and formerly chaired the finance committee.

Mr. Tassini gets to know each client, and he designs and implements each estate plan to meet the specific needs of the client and his or her loved ones, now and in the future.

In 2004, Mr. Tassini received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.  In 2006, he earned a Master of Arts degree in Education from Columbia University Teachers College.  Before practicing law, he taught English in public schools in New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut.

In 2009, Mr. Tassini received his Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center.  As a law student, he interned in the Office of the Attorney General of the District of Columbia, bringing actions on behalf of low-income tenants for remediation of substandard housing conditions, and in the chambers of Hon. Marie E. Lihotz, J.A.D. (now ret.).  At graduation, Mr. Tassini’s classmates elected him a commencement speaker.   Today, Mr. Tassini participates in the Alumni Admissions program, interviewing prospective Georgetown Law students.

Mr. Tassini is admitted to practice in New Jersey’s state and federal courts.  He began his career at McCarter & English, Newark, served as an Ocean County Assistant Prosecutor, and was associated with Campbell, Foley, Delano & Adams, Asbury Park, and Foss, San Filippo & Milne, Red Bank.  As a member of the adjunct faculties of Georgian Court and Monmouth Universities, Mr. Tassini has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in American Government and School Law.
